Upon recommendation of the seminary formators and having consulted the members of the College of Consultors, His Grace Most Reverend Julian Leow D.D., the Archbishop of Kuala Lumpur, intends to call Bro. Gnana Selvam Berentis to the Order of Deacon on Monday, 5 June 2023 at 10:00 am in the chapel of the Convent of the Infant Jesus, Bukit Nanas, Kuala Lumpur. Due to seating limitations, only invited guests may attend.

The Bro. Gnana Selvam hails from the Church of St Paul the Hermit, Bestari Jaya, Selangor. He completed his ecclesiastical studies in philosophy at the College General Major Seminary, Penang (2016-2017) and then in theology at St Peter’s College, Kuching (2018-2022).

Bro. Gnana Selvam is currently residing at the Cathedral of St John the Evangelist, Kuala Lumpur.

In accordance with Canon Law, this is a public announcement requirement (CIC 1051§2). Catholics are obliged to reveal any impediment or circumstances that would prevent the above candidate from receiving Sacred Orders (CIC 1043).
